Nice video there Sarge, I’ve yet to implement the tweetmeme, looks like its pretty friendly, I’ve never hit the button myself even though I have twitter, but I’ve been curious.

That was my first video tutorial I’ve done. Ever. I was a little uncomfortable but hope to keep doing them as public speaking is a fear I’d like to get rid of and really improve in. So the videos are a great way to help me as well as helping you guys out

I use ScreenFlow for the Mac. It has screen/audio capture and editing all built into one. Pretty neat! I used a cheapy ‘easyman’ headset to record the voice.

I think it is my first time visiting your blog. Wish I’d know about you a long time ago. Very nice site and good content.

Your video tutorial was fantastic. I do these from time to time, but I’m a little less comfortable with recoding myself and usually end up sounding silly. haha BTW, what program are you using for screencasts? I like the zoom-in feature!

@Niall – Is there a ReTweet homepage like digg where it shows the most retweeted tweets?

I recently signed up for an account at bit.ly which is great to see how many people are clicking on the links *I* tweet out as opposed to how many people are clicking on that link whether I tweeted it or someone else did.

I used to use hootsuite but people were saying they didn’t like the bar it used so I’ve switched to bit.ly.

As soon as I saw the RT buttons for the first time I knew they were going to be huge. Everybody used to go for the Digg buttons but they didn;t really work unless they made the homepage. There are a lot of automatic tweets etc but the beauty of the Retweet button is that if you click in to a post and see that it has high double fiugure retweets then you have a fairly good idea that it is going to be a good post and well worth reading. I can see the Retweet homepage where the show the best of the stories becoming like a new Digg where people can surf the best stories from the web in an instant. The other thing to remember is that there are also some great stats for the publisher about how and why your story is getting retweeted. Winner all around I guess

On Screenr you will see an option that says “don’t send tweet now will send later manually”. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I have a PC so I checked out Screenr – super easy & works well! The only con is, seems like you have to publish the link on Twitter before you can download the file to embed on your site or upload to youtube. I’m sure there’s probably a way around that though…

Screenr is something I may try using next (Thanks @Ileane for pointing me out to it!). It’s online, free and very easy to use. http://screenr.com/
